DIY Wall Hanging Jewelry Organizer

Hello everybody! I hope you’re all doing well!

Today I wanted to show you a DIY that I’ve been wanting to do for ages: a jewelry organizer.ย
As many of you know, I have an Etsy shop (ElleBรฌ Handmade Jewelry) where I sell my handmade jewelry creations. Throughout these months I’ve been making tons and tons of jewelry that then ends up in my shop. None of the samples go out to my customers though; the samples are made to have one model for each piece of jewelry so I can basically remember how to make it and how it’s supposed to look!
I wear my jewelry every day because I love it and am proud of it โ˜บ๏ธย Since I just have soo much, why not just display it in my work space? So I looked around on Pinterest to find some inspiration for jewelry organizers and came up with this simple idea to display all my handmade jewelry.

Ciao a tutti!

Come molti di voi giร  sanno, ho un negozio su Etsyย (ElleBรฌ Handmade Jewelry) dove vendo gioielli fatti a mano da me.

I already had all the material I needed at home, but if you want to give it a try here is what you need:

  • One 39″ 1×4
  • Paint & brush
  • Cup hooks
  • Branch *optional*
  • Chain and jump rings *optional*

  • Vernice e pennello
  • Gancetti
  • Un ramo *facoltativo*
  • Una catenina e anellini *facoltativo*

So I started off by ripping the wood to 1 3/4″ and then cutting it to 19 1/2″ obtaining 4 pieces. I am going to end up using only 3 out of 4. I suggest you to keep the spare one in case you run out of space!

Let’s get ready to paint!
Prepariamoci a dipingere!

IMG_6723IMG_6724IMG_6725

HINT: you only need to paint 3 out of the 4 sides!

Once they are dry, grab the hooks and screw them into the wood.

Once you’re done with the screws, grab the stick/branch and with a knife or scissors, remove the bark. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my dog for bringing me home a bunch of sticks every day haha.

Now grab a chain, measure and cut it. Link it together using a jump ring.

This is how it should turn out!

Dovrebbe venire fuori cos

Attach some hooks to the back of each piece of wood (or just use some nails) to hang your organizer to the wall!

IMG_6744IMG_6745

HINT: They don’t need to be perfectly straight/levelled. You can adjust the nails on the wall later.

Hang it all, add your jewelry and you’re done!

CONSIGLIO: Non devono essere perfettamente allineati. Puoi sempre sistemare i chiodi sul muro dopo.

Appendi tutto, aggiungi i tuoi gioielli e hai finito!

Have a wonderful day!

Buona giornata a tutti!

  1. Laura, what a great piece. Thanks for sharing.
Will check your Etsy shop soon.
Question, we tried to setup Etsy with our handmade accessories and they banned us saying that we did not have handmade items when in fact we did (cracked marble accessories ).
Anyway, do you have any advice on how we could potentially get back online with Etsy without running into the same issue?

    1. Hey, Gabriel! Thatโ€™s a great question. It often happens on Etsy that they ban or close new shops for reasons like that. A lot of times itโ€™s a mistake. Try and contact their customer service and explain what happened; provide pictures of your handmade items, showing you make them. They should lift the ban. Also, when you post a new listing, always mark it as handmade item, made by you. Post as many pictures as you can; in your shop there is a section where you can show your โ€œwork spaceโ€. You can upload pictures of your work desk, videos, how you make your cracked marble accessories. I hope that helps, good luck with your Etsy shop!
