Stamped Wanderlust Cuff Bracelet

This is my 100th blog post!!! Whaaaat?!

Hi everyone!!!ย I hope you’re all doing well!

Question of the day: what’s your current obsession? Mine is metal stamping! …and puppies,ย of course…

If you don’t know what metal stamping is, it’s basically using a hammer to smash punches on a metal surface, like a metal cuff bracelet. These punches are often letter and symbol punches.
So after watching and reading a ton of stuff about metal stamping I finally decided to buy all the material to make some cute metal stamped jewellery. But not only jewellery, in fact you can also make keychains, dog tags…just about anything you want to personalise on metal! Please read until the end!

Questo รจ il mio post numero 100!!! Waaa!

Ciao a tutti!!!

I wanted to make a cuff bracelet so bad, just because I’m obsessed with cuff bracelets ย lately. Yup, that too, add it to the list of my monthly obsessions.
So here is all the material I needed in order to make a stamped cuff bracelet:

ImpressArt is a great website if you want to find metal stamping products. I also highly recommend Beaducation, that’s where I learnt everything I know about metal stamping.
So the first thing I did was preparing the steel block and using some tape and marker to make sure the letters are equally separated.

The tape is also important to stamp straight!

As you can notice there are 10 spaces; 10 just like the letters I want to stamp. In fact I decided to stamp the word “Wanderlust”.

Then I secured the cuff metal piece with some tape, making sure the middle is centred.

Once you’re done with that it’s time to stamp! So make sure you stamp on a tough surface, not the marble table I used to take pictures haha. I placed mine on my tile floor and started smashing the hammer like a crazy psycho. Just kidding. It’s a job that requires precision and calmness. So don’t smash the hammer. Well, I mean, you will have to smash it eventually, just make sure it’s once per letter and don’t go bananas with it.

Start from the middle, in this case I started with the lettersย eย andย r.ย Help yourself by looking at the reflection of the letter on the metal piece. It really helps a lot. Try to stamp each letter in the center, not too high, not too low. Keep going until you stamped the whole word.

I also added some symbols.
Ho aggiunto anche dei simboli.

IMG_0188

But this is not it! You need to make those letters pop up! So all you need to do is colour them with a Sharpie and then wipe it off with some paper towel. It’s as easy as that!
Ma non รจ finita qui! Bisogna far risaltare quelle lettere!

Andddd voilร !
Eeee voilร !

IMG_0196

Now you need to make it into a shape of an actual bracelet. To do that you need a tool like this one and it will come out perfect.

Ta-daaaa!

Yes, I love bracelets and I love wearing a bunch of them ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

      1. I was going to start selling on Etsy but I found out you get charged to list it, and again if it sells then there is a charge when the payment goes through to your account and if it doesn’t sell you get charged again. So unless you are selling a lot of goods and making good revenue it can be quite costly. It might be best looking into Ebay? or even a separate website you can set up for free to sell them on and just link your blog to it. You are in charge of all your products with no commissions for them being sold or not selling.

Hope this helps out a bit as I have done a little bit of research into Etsy as well as other selling alternatives.
