Hello everybody and welcome to Blogmas Day 22!

Have you ever seen those 3D paper snowflakes that are super trendy pretty much everywhere these days? Here isย a single one made with felt. I saw this idea on Pinterest and Betz White inspired me to make one!

What you will need is:

  • Thick felt
  • Chalk liner pen
  • Fishing line
  • Xacto knife and scissors
  • Glue gun

Occorrente:

  • Feltro abbastanza spesso
  • Penna bianca o gesso
  • Filo trasparente
  • Taglierina e forbici
  • Colla a caldo

This shape is actually called Ogee and it’s made out of a square and a few straight cuts! The 3D snowflake has 6 of these shapes but just like Betz White I liked a single one. You can either make 6 or also a chain full of these!

1. The first thing you need to do is cut a square of felt. Mine was 18cm x 18cm (almost 6″-6″).

2. Next, mark a diagonal line across the square from corner to corner. Then mark lines about 2cm apart (3/4″), all parallel to each other, using the white pen or chalk.

3. Using a ruler and an Xacto knife or felt cutter, cut along all the lines. Remember to leave about 5mm (1/4″) from the diagonal line. Repeat until you made all the cuts.

4. Now you need to lift the corners, starting from the center, and glue them together using a glue gun. Turn the pieceย over and lift the corners of the second square. Repeat always turning over the piece every time you glued each corner.
Ripeti fino all’ultimo pezzo.

5. Using a needle create a hanging loop with fishing line and add some felt balls (optional). I also added a mini bell.

6. Hang it wherever you want!
6. Appendilo dove vuoi!

      1. You’re most welcome!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ I was also wondering if you had any ideas on how to creatively display a keyring collection? If you could suggest anything, it would be great! If you could do a DIY it would be even better ๐Ÿ™‚ โค

A keyring collection! That’s nice โ˜บ๏ธ Have you thought about displaying them in a shadow box? You can find cheap ones at IKEA! I’ll let you know if I find something else. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
