DIY Painted Christmas Tree Ornaments & Putting Up the Tree🎄🖌

Hi everyone! I’ve been a bit busy with work and preparing Christmas posts for December!

Soo! As I mentioned in the Christmas Village post, this year I am going to decorate my Christmas tree with Tiffany blue ornaments. You probably saw that I already got some ornaments in silver, clear and white. But there was a lack of Tiffany blue because they are not that easy to find where I live, so my mother and I decided to paint some old ornaments that we don’t use anymore; recycle!
I’ve been thinking a lot if I should upload this post yet. It might be a bit early for some of you but I just love Christmas so much. I am decorating the house already; hey this Sunday is the first advent Sunday! Don’t judge me 😅😋

Come ho già anticipato nel Christmas Village post, quest’anno decorerò l’albero del colore Tiffany. Forse avete già visto che ho preso delle decorazioni in argento, trasparenti e bianche. Ma mancava il color Tiffany, non si trovava. Quindi io e mia mamma abbiamo deciso di dipingere delle vecchie decorazioni che non usiamo più; riciclo! Ho riflettuto un po’ prima di pubblicare questo post. Per alcuni di voi può sembrare un po’ troppo presto ma il natale è la mia festa preferita. Sto già addobbando la casa; questa domenica è la prima domenica di Avvento! Non prendetevela con me  😅😋

I wanted to share with you this easy DIY so let’s get started.
Volevo condividere con voi questo semplicissimo lavoretto quindi cominciamo!

What you will need:

• Acrylic paint
• Paint brushes
• Plastic plate
• and of course some old ornaments for the tree

Occorrente:

• Colori acrilici
• Pennelli
• Piatto di plastica
• e ovviamente un po’ di decorazioni vecchie che non usate più

1. I had these old ornaments that I’ve used probably 5 years ago but I don’t use them anymore.
I also had 2 acrylic colours that I thought they would work when mixed together. In fact I got a tiffany blue! You can’t really see it well from the pictures, but trust me, it’s Tiffany blue 😁
So when you have the colour you desire, start painting! Remember to cover the small cap with some tape if you don’t want to paint that. Also, if your old ornaments are dark like mine, 2 coats are probably better to cover the colour.

1. Queste sono delle decorazioni che non uso più da anni.
A disposizione avevo inoltre i soliti due colori acrilici e ho pensato che mescolati assieme avrebbero funzionato. Infatti è venuto fuori un blu Tiffany! Non si vede molto bene dalle foto ma credetemi, è blu Tiffany 😁
Quando hai il colore che desideri comincia a dipingere! Ricordati di coprire il tappo se non vuoi colorarlo. Se le tue decorazioni vecchie sono scure, come le mie, 2 mani di colori è probabilmente l’ideale per non ottenere un colore più scuro del dovuto.

2. Hang the ornaments on a drying rack to let them dry. I found this was a genius idea haha

2. Appendi le decorazioni su uno stendibiancheria man mano che hai finito di dipingerle. Idea geniale lo stendibiancheria haha

3. I also painted a bird house and a sea star since I still had some paint. Let them dry and you’re done! Now you can add some glitter or ribbon to decorate them

3. Lasciale asciugare e poi potrai decorarle come ti pare. Ad esempio con un po’ di glitter o nastro colorato. 

I couldn’t wait to put up the Christmas tree so here are some pics with all the ornaments!
